For 2016…

I have thought about and prayed for weeks about my focus for the new year. Since my mind has been freed and I’ve shifted away from my usual strict fitness/body related resolutions (MUCH more coming about that soon), my mind has had space to do a lot of soul searching as I prepare to grow in 2016. Two things have swirled through my head over and over: ETERNAL PERSPECTIVE BE PRESENT At first glance, these phrases seem to contradict each other. Which will it be? Will I fix my thoughts on heaven? Or will I savor every second of abundant life around me? To truly experience both on a daily basis…THAT is a beautiful thing. A spiritual maturity that I thirst for. So for 2016, My desire is to be PRESENT-truly present-in all moments with my husband, kids, friends, family, clients, and with the LORD. To experience the sounds, smells, sights, and happenings of each day without the mind-traffic of useless distraction or the fog of preoccupation with superficial things that don’t really matter… My desire is to fiercely live this way, while simultaneously deepening and maturing my ETERNAL perspective. To see all these daily moments for which I’m present, through a God-given, eternal lens. To understand that every moment-good and bad, joyful and painful-all point to, and prepare me for, the big picture: ETERNITY with my Creator. To possess the wisdom and spiritual maturity to experience living abundantly where the Lord has me now, while going about God’s Kingdom work and storing up my treasures in heaven. To boldly live my life in this world with passion and purpose, until the Lord’s... read more

My sweet friend Mary shared this recipe with me several years ago and I’ve been hooked ever since. Why Women Should Lift

Have you spent countless hours running, huffing and puffing on the elliptical, or spinning your wheels with other forms of cardio and wondered why you could never quite reach the results you were aiming for? Or maybe you had a lot of weight and body fat to lose when you started your health journey. For a while, cardio and cleaning up your diet a bit were enough to keep the weight coming off. And then you hit a wall. No matter how much distance you added to your morning run, or how many extra minutes you clocked on the elliptical…nothing changed. Why does this happen? Don’t get me wrong. Cardio and a healthy diet are ESSENTIAL to weight loss and a healthy body. The benefits are countless on the outside and inside. But many women miss the last piece of the puzzle. STRENGTH/RESISTANCE TRAINING. I just lost a few of you, didn’t I? Don’t worry, many women can find the motivation and desire to get in some weekly cardio, but strength training brings many questions to the table. Let’s go over a couple of the common concerns: 1. Will I bulk up? BECOMING BULKY IS A MYTH-Based on a woman’s physiological makeup, it’s not in the cards for us to build ridiculously huge muscles. You can definitely control how far you take your muscle tone by the type of resistance training program you choose (super high loads) and/or by lowering your body fat dramatically (think figure competitors), but moderate training two to three times a week will give you lean and beautiful muscle mass! I’ve NEVER heard a woman... read more

“I have been a steady gym goer for about seven years now, but never seemed to get the results I wanted. In May of this year, Kelli and I crossed paths and I put all of my fears of having a personal trainer behind me by taking on this new adventure. She has not only pushed my body to do things I never thought it could, but also educated me along the way. Going into my journey I wanted to get toned and feel good in my own skin, and that’s exactly what has happened. I found a new passion for working out and personal health and fitness thanks to Kelli’s motivation. Her workouts have not only changed my body but also my whole outlook on my health and well-being. If you are looking to change your body as well as pushing and educating yourself, Kelli is the trainer for you!”

Katie W.

My journey began in October 2014 when I realized it was time to make a change in my health and fitness. I know several personal trainers so trying to decide which was the right trainer for me I thought was going to be a tough decision.  I only knew Kelli through mutual friends but decided to give her a call. Once I made that phone call and spoke with her, my decision was actually very easy. She was very motivating and caring and completely understood my fear of being so out of shape.  I told her that I may not could get through a workout and she reassured me with “that is exactly why you are calling me, right?”  Kelli explained to me the importance of strength training even if I was a little over weight. I am 41 years old so being trained by someone much younger I thought would be intimidating but it was nothing like that. I am going on three months of training now and the results I have seen in that short of time are amazing.  I have built so much muscle, strengthened my back, and changed my overall body appearance. When I started it was strictly because I wanted to build muscle and get in shape.  Now to see how good it makes me feel mentally and physically is what will keep me training for as long as I possibly can.  Kelli has inspired me in so many ways with her caring heart and her love to help people.  I work hard in my workouts not only for myself but also to make her proud of the effort I give.  She has a way about her that makes you want to give it 110% during the workout even when you are not feeling it that day! I have to admit, at first, this was extremely a mental thing for me and very hard to make it through a workout.  But now, I can’t wait to work out with her and actually complete it with more energy than when I started. I can’t wait to continue my journey with Move Wellness and having Kelli as my trainer is God sent! But even more than just a trainer, I have a life long friend now that will continue to inspire me to be a better version of myself in so many ways!
